Your Guide to NYC Observation Decks

NYC Observation Decks are a must see if you are traveling to New York. Even if you live here, the views from the very tops of the skyscrapers are still mesmerizing. Here is your Guide to the most scenic viewpoints and the best places to take in the skyline of New York. From the most popular to the lesser known and crowded locations.

There are currently (2021) four most popular view points: Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, One World Observatory and the Edge at 30 Hudson Yards. Also, there is a brand new observation deck opening soon at One Vanderbilt.

Top of the Rock at 30 Rockefeller Center is by far our favorite one. The views are unmatched, even with the newer observation decks added. Above all, this is the only observation deck, where you are able to take in some of the New York City views, unobstructed. The building itself is a fabulous example of the Art Deco era and offers a fun historical experience. Read the full Guide to Top of the Rock Here..

The Edge at 30 Hudson Yards is a truly special and edgy way to experience NYC’s skyline. Although it is a fairly new one of New York’s viewing points, it already became a favorite and one of the most instagrammable locations in Manhattan. The viewing platform literally sticks out of the skyscraper, and the glass part in the deck allows you to see all the way down. In addition, the Hudson Yards Center itself has many other experiences and fun things to do. Which makes it a convenient location to spend a day exploring. Read  the full Guide to the Edge Here..

The High Line an elevated park that was transformed from an old railroad and is an amazing urban structure.
