Yeezy and GAP Multi – Year Collaboration

Yeezy and GAP partnership is exciting news for Yeezy fans, which prices are way above GAP’s price range. Kanye West left a handwritten message for Gap shoppers over a Gap store in Chicago to mark his new multi – year collaboration with the company as creative director.
In a 2015 interview with The Cut, West seemed to have foreseen this collaboration when he said “One of my dreams was to be the head creative director of the Gap. I’d like to be the Steve Jobs of the Gap … I want full Hedi Slimane creative control of the Gap.”
Yeezy and Gap Inc has entered into a “10 year partnership” where cobranded collections of apparel for men, women, and children will be created. Mr. West has appointed Mowalola Ogunlesi as the official design director of Yeezy Gap. The collection is expected to launch in 2021.
This collaboration could be a lifesaver for Gap, which has been struggling to resonate with younger audiences, not to mention Gap Inc (GPS.N) reported a quarterly loss of nearly $1 billion as the apparel retailer was forced to close its stores due to the coronavirus outbreak.
As announced, Yeezy and GAP deal sent shares up nearly 40% on the news, the fact remains that the company stock is still down more than 33% year to date.

Yeezy’s previous collaborations have shown quite amazing results, where the original sneakers are now very much wanted collectibles, sold for thousands of dollars. Will the Yeezy and GAP collaboration have similar success? We can’t wait to see!
